On Thursday of this week we celebrate Veterans Day. As we remember the contributions made by the brave men and women who have worn the uniform for our United States military it is time to reflect upon their service to this nation. May we pause and consider the sacrifices made to serve and protect our nation as well as celebrate the contributions made within Kitsap County by those who came here through their military service.
Many of us are privileged to be the children, grandchildren, friends, and siblings of service members who sacrificed greatly for the betterment of this nation. Others of us have witnessed this sacrificial service as parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. We may never fully understand the sacrifices they have made, but we can express our thanks and gratitude as we extend our appreciation. And may we also pledge to remember and never forget those who made the ultimate sacrifice, lives cut short in defense of the liberties and freedoms we sometimes take for granted.
To all the heroes here in Kitsap County are currently serving this nation, and for the many among us who proudly served this nation in the past, thank you!
