The next offering of Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in Kitsap County starts January 9. This nationally certified training provides community members the opportunity to learn the vital skills and teamwork essential to assist and provide support in an emergency or disaster. The classes will be held over the course of four weeks on Thursday evenings and Saturday days at Keyport Bible Church located at 15270 Washington Ave in Keyport
CERT members are trained in basic disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization and disaster medical operations. CERT training is FREE and open to any person in Kitsap County over the age of 18. The class size is limited and registration in advance is required. All sessions must be attended to complete the course. You can register on the website at this link.

CPR, First Aid, Stop the Bleed Saturday, January 18 8am – 4pm
Unit 5 – Disaster Psychology Thursday, January 23 6pm – 8pm
Unit 6 & 7 – Fire & Utilities/Light Search & Rescue Saturday, January 25 9am – 4pm
Unit 8 – Terrorism & CERT Thursday, January 30 6pm – 8pm
Unit 9 – Final Exam and Drill Saturday, February 1 9am – 4pm
