Icy road conditions continue will continue to create a safety concern this week in Kitsap County. Temperatures are forecast to dip below freezing on Tuesday night and again over the weekend. The melting and refreezing of snow on the roads will create black ice in many locations which is difficult to see and very slippery – especially on bridges and overpasses.
Be sure to plan accordingly and limit travel if possible. Take it slower that you would under normal conditions, maintain a greater distance between your vehicle and the one in front of you and avoid slamming on your brakes.
