Faith leaders here in Kitsap County are invited to attend the “Protecting Houses of Worship Resources Webinar” on Thursday, February 1, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. PST. Hosted by Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA), which is part of the Department of Homeland Security, the goal is support efforts to maintain safe and secure houses of worship and related facilities while sustaining an open and welcoming environment. This webinar is for those in the states of Washington, Oregon, Idaho and Alaska.
Topics for discussion and information sharing will include physical security and cybersecurity considerations as well as CISA guidance and resources to inform Faith-Based Organizations and Houses of Worship security-based decisions (a guide, a self-assessment tool, trainings, exercises, and other materials focused on a wide range of man-made threats) that could be used against faith-based organizations and places of worship. This will include an overview of CISA resources that assist in securing physical and cyber infrastructure and to provide an overview of the Nonprofit Security Grant Program (NSGP).
